Trip to India

I will be visiting this lodge with my family.

Here is a picture of a guide inspecting tiger dung. Maybe we’ll be lucky enough to see something as exciting as that.

No blogging for three weeks.

So if you want to read something, you can read my archives. In particular:
  1. May (for the week ending 12/17)

  2. June (for the week ending 12/24)

  3. July (for the week ending 12/31)

would be good choices, IMHO.

I will come back and host the Carnival of Capitalists. That should be fun.

  • Hi Nitin
My son would be thrilled by riding on a elephant. I hope we see some animals. Maybe we will see a few wild boar and maybe some primates.

Anyway, I will give a description we I get back.

  • Good luck on seeing wildlife. I was there last year, and saw elephants, bison, deer, boar. Although try to spend more than a day there so you can spend some time on a machan to see the real difficult to spot animals. And I wasnt too thrilled by the elephant ride. They dont really take you into the deepest parts of the jungle and it's kind of lame.

  • Hi Gawker
What a coincidence that both you and Nitin have been there.

My son is very into wildlife and if he sees these things, he will be very happy. The elephant ride I believe is more of a tourist gimmick but my son will enjoy it.

Hopefully the lodge is in decent shape. My son is used to posh living and could easily be put off by "primitive" conditions, (see next blog entry).

  • Yeah the elephant ride is for foreign tourists I guess since they might not have seen an elephant before. The lodge is great. In fact it's better than most hotels you might find in India. And awesome food too. Make sure you go eat on time cause they have some kind of rigid timetable for meals. Oh and don't forget to take the boat ride. That is awesome fun, especially if you see elephants on the shore like we did.

  • Yes, India is a great country, and there are many places to visit. The best places in India to visit includes Delhi, Jaipur, Goa, Mumbai, Shimla, Bengaluru, Agra, Mysore and Munnar etc. Wildlife safari is the best one for who likes adventure tourism and it is available in many places in India.
