The Wise Old Woman Who Lived In a Cave
People came to the wise old woman who lived in a cave. She solved their problems; they paid her well.
One day, the taxman came. “You’re wise. You can pay.”
She smiled. “If I’m so wise, why do I live in a cave?”
The taxman left.

Update 2
Read Gaurav Subnis's 55 word story of unnatural job satisfation, (I'm not so sure that it would be so unusual though).

Hi Sunil
I got the punchline of this story from an old cartoon. It was Bullwinkle. I loved watching that as a kid and I was pretty young -maybe 6 or 7. In one episode Rocky and Bullwinkle (the heros) to for help to the wise man who lived in a hole in the ground. After he helped them, the narrator mentioned something about the wise man and the wise man looked at the screen and addressed the narrator: "I don't know. If I'm so wise, why am I living in a hole in the ground?"
Somehow that stuck me as immensely funny and profound at the same time. I never forgot it.
